Drew Wilkie #2

Coach John Donovan and Billy Donovan #22

Drew Wilkie #2

Drew tragically passed away in 2000. His parents set up the Wilkie Fund in his memory. The fund was initially created to offset the cost of membership for families who otherwise could not afford for their children to play. We're proud to say that since the fund's inception, CCSC has not needed to touch the money and we have never turned anyone who couldn't afford to play.

When we needed a new Zamboni, Club manager, Billy Dreisbach, reached out to the Wilkie family to see if the funds could be used to purchase the costly equipment. They agreed.

Drew was not only a player here, but he was part of the CCSC staff. Among his jobs was operating the Zamboni. It is with tremendous gratitude that we dedicated the new Zamboni in his honor.

The new Zamboni is pictured below along with Wilkie's jersey and the Club members who witnessed the dedication ceremony.

Coach John Donovan and Billy Donovan #22

The #22 stickers on the backs of our players' helmets are in honor of Billy Donovan. Billy Donovan played at CCSC from Mites to Midgets. He was an outstanding player and was captain for many of his teams. Billy also played for Unionville High School. Billy worked at the club during his high school years. Unfortunately, Billy passed in April of 2021. We will remember him by having his number 22 on our helmets.

His father John Donovan passed away the following February. John was a long-time coach for CCSC and made the Club his family's second home.

John and Billy will be missed. Two scholarships were set up by the Donovan family to honor John and Billy. Click here to learn more about the scholarships.

Pictured below is the #22 helmet sticker worn by our players with photos of Billy and John from their days at the Club.
